About the position

NJM Insurance is seeking a Product Management Analyst, also referred to as a Business Insights Analyst, Associate, to join our Product Management department. This role is pivotal in fostering a data-driven culture within the organization by empowering users through the effective use of data and analytics. The successful candidate will collaborate with various levels of management to drive business decisions by continuously monitoring and analyzing key performance metrics, ensuring that targets and goals are met. The analyst will engage in a variety of analytical and data analysis activities that will enhance the department's understanding of profit, growth, retention, and operational results across assigned states. This understanding is crucial for achieving sustained long-term profitable growth while maintaining the highest levels of service to our customers. In this role, the Product Management Analyst will be responsible for reviewing and reporting on market share and competitor activities within assigned states. The analyst will provide insights and trends in the marketplace, generating regular reports on key performance indicators. Additionally, the analyst will lead strategic projects that support product management and assist in preparing presentations for business leaders. The development of competitive models and analyses will be a key function, utilizing data and analytical skills to create dashboards and ad hoc reports. The analyst will compile, clean, organize, and analyze complex data to communicate business results effectively. Conducting presentations as required and reviewing financial results with business leaders to provide insights relative to expectations will also be part of the responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Review and report on market share and activities of competitors within assigned states.
  • Provide insights and trends in the marketplace.
  • Generate regular reporting on key performance indicators.
  • Lead strategic projects in support of product management and assist in preparing presentations for business leaders.

Requirements

  • Familiarity in data science tools and available systems (SQL, SAS, PowerBi or similar, Office suite) is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree required in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of intellectual curiosity.
  • Ability to drive strategic direction and take initiative.
  • Effective communicator (verbal and written).
  • Demonstrated innovative thinking.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Desire to work collaboratively in a team environment.
