About the position

The Product Management Data Analyst II position is a critical role within the Commercial team, primarily supporting the Global Product Management Director. This role involves a variety of analytical and data-driven tasks aimed at enhancing product and business growth, as well as profitability. The analyst will be responsible for preparing, compiling, and updating the Business Plan and Sales and Marketing presentations, which are essential for the Commercial team that encompasses Product Management, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service. In addition to managing SKU Optimization analysis and Past Due Quotes analysis, the analyst will oversee the Global Sales Report program and any other specific projects or analyses as requested. A significant part of the role includes collecting, organizing, and presenting customer build rate data, forecasts, and business conditions to support informed product planning decisions. The analyst will also maintain and update customer playbooks and product battlefield charts, ensuring that the Commercial team has access to the most current and relevant information. The position requires the analyst to support the Commercial team through various sales and profitability analyses, preparing presentations and analytical materials that aid in decision-making. The role may also involve visiting customers and distributors as directed by Commercial Leadership, attending trade shows and conferences to gather market intelligence, and ensuring compliance with ITAR and IMEX requirements. The analyst must adhere to established safety and environmental standards and conduct all activities in accordance with the company's policies and the Howmet Code of Conduct. Overall, this position is designed for a proactive individual who can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while contributing to the strategic goals of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Global Product Management Director with analytical and data-based reporting, presentations, and projects.
  • Manage the preparation, compilation, and update of the Business Plan and Sales and Marketing presentations for the Commercial team.
  • Conduct SKU Optimization analysis, Past Due Quotes analysis, and manage the Global Sales Report program.
  • Collect, organize, and present customer build rate data, forecasts, and business conditions to support product planning decisions.
  • Maintain and update customer playbooks from the Sales team for top 10 customers, including products, pricing, and competitive analysis.
  • Gather and update product battlefield charts from the Product Management team.
  • Support the Commercial team through sales and profitability analysis for customers and products, and prepare presentations and analytical materials.
  • Visit customers and distributors as required by Commercial Leadership.
  • Attend trade shows and conferences to gather market intelligence and maintain customer relationships.
  • Comply with ITAR and IMEX requirements in areas of accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures and conduct all activities in accordance with the Howmet Code of Conduct.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited University or College required.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a financial analyst role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with various stakeholders.
  • Advanced mathematical and statistical analysis skills with the ability to analyze data and market trends.
  • Advanced level of Microsoft Office Suite of Applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in preparing professional presentations using PowerPoint.
  • Ability to function independently and implement a plan of action based on general directions.
  • Comfortable functioning in a high-paced environment under tight deadlines and balancing multiple competing priorities.
  • Comfortable presenting and participating in discussions within a high-level executive environment.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, aerospace preferred.
  • Previous cost accounting experience highly desired.
  • Prior experience in product management or business analysis is preferred.
  • Understanding of accounting principles, profit, loss, standard costing, cash flow, net present value analysis.
  • Technical proficiency in use of Power BI tools to create meaningful dashboards and reporting tools.
  • Project Management experience in managing and overseeing product-related projects.
