About the position

The Product Analyst position at Howmet Aerospace is a critical role that supports the Global Product Management Director in various analytical and data-driven tasks. This position is focused on enhancing product and business growth through comprehensive reporting, presentations, and critical thinking assessments. The analyst will assist in managing the preparation and updates of the Business Plan and Sales and Marketing presentations for the Commercial team, which encompasses Product Management, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service. Key responsibilities include conducting SKU Optimization analysis, Past Due Quotes analysis, and managing the Global Sales Report program, along with any other specific projects or analyses as requested. The analyst will also be responsible for collecting, organizing, and presenting customer build rate data, forecasts, and other business information that supports product planning decisions. Additionally, the role involves maintaining customer playbooks for the top 10 customers, which includes products, pricing, competitive analysis, and negotiation support materials. The Product Analyst will support the Commercial team through sales and profitability analysis, preparation of presentations, and other analytical materials. This may involve visiting customers and distributors as required by Commercial Leadership, attending trade shows and conferences to gather market intelligence, and ensuring compliance with ITAR and IMEX requirements. The analyst must maintain adherence to safety and environmental standards and conduct all activities in accordance with the Howmet Code of Conduct. Overall, this position requires a blend of analytical skills, communication abilities, and a proactive approach to support the company's strategic objectives in the aerospace and transportation industries.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Global Product Management Director with analytical and data-based reporting, presentations, and projects.
  • Manage the preparation, compilation, and update of the Business Plan and Sales and Marketing presentations for the Commercial team.
  • Conduct SKU Optimization analysis and Past Due Quotes analysis.
  • Manage the Global Sales Report program and other specific projects/programs/analyses as requested.
  • Collect, organize, and present customer build rate data, forecasts, and other business information to support product planning decisions.
  • Maintain and update customer playbooks from the Sales team for top 10 customers, including products, pricing, and competitive analysis.
  • Support the Commercial team through sales and profitability analysis for customers and products, and prepare presentations and analytical materials.
  • Visit customers and distributors as required by Commercial Leadership.
  • Attend trade shows and conferences to gather market intelligence and maintain customer relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with ITAR and IMEX requirements in areas of accountability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited University or College required.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a financial analyst role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with various stakeholders.
  • Advanced mathematical and statistical analysis skills with the ability to analyze data and market trends.
  • Advanced level of Microsoft Office Suite of Applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to prepare professional presentations using PowerPoint.
  • Ability to function independently and implement a plan of action.
  • Comfortable functioning in a high-paced environment under tight deadlines and balancing multiple competing priorities.
  • Comfortable presenting and participating in discussions within a high-level executive environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, aerospace preferred.
  • Previous cost accounting experience highly desired.
  • Prior experience in product management or business analysis is preferred.
  • Understanding of accounting principles, profit, loss, standard costing, cash flow, net present value analysis.
  • Technical proficiency in use of Power BI tools to create meaningful dashboards and reporting tools.
  • Project Management experience in managing and overseeing product-related projects.
