About the position

As a Product Management Development Program (PMDP) Intern at Travelers Insurance, you will be immersed in the dynamic environment of the Product Management organization, specifically within the Personal Insurance or Select Small Commercial sectors. This internship is designed to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of product management in the insurance industry, allowing you to engage in a variety of fast-paced projects that are critical to the growth and success of the organization. The PMDP is recognized as the fastest growing section of Travelers, and as an intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that will enhance your skills and knowledge in product management. Throughout the summer, you will participate in a group capstone project that will challenge you to apply your learning and culminate in a final presentation to senior management and other key stakeholders. You will also have the chance to quantify the impact of pricing and underwriting decisions, analyze marketplace data, and engage in negotiations regarding pricing with various distribution channels. This hands-on experience will allow you to research and analyze industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes, all of which are essential for developing and implementing effective underwriting guidelines and product coverage enhancements. Collaboration is a key component of this internship, as you will work closely with various departments including Finance, Actuarial, Field Sales, Research and Development, Risk Management, and Claims.
