The Product Management Development Program (PMDP) at Travelers is designed for individuals who are eager to engage in innovative thinking, data-driven problem solving, and strong collaboration skills. This one-year rotational program offers participants the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of Product Insurance pricing, development, and management. Throughout the program, participants will gain hands-on experience and technical industry skills while working closely with various product teams and leaders. The program encompasses facets of Product Management across both Personal Insurance and Business Insurance, providing a comprehensive understanding of the insurance landscape. Participants will undergo specialized training that covers essential topics such as insurance fundamentals, actuarial principles, and underwriting processes. They will also develop and enhance their technical and data analysis skills by collaborating with members of the leadership teams. This training will empower participants to think critically, creatively, and strategically as they tackle unique and intellectually stimulating business problems. In addition to training, participants will support data analysis of business results, including product refreshes and performance expectations, while identifying root causes of issues. They will complete analyses with a high level of accuracy, such as loss and production analyses, and engage in cross-market and cross-state projects, as well as competitive intelligence initiatives. Collaboration is key, as participants will work with various teams across the enterprise, including Sales, Actuarial, and Underwriting, to drive product profitability and achieve team objectives. The program encourages participants to take the initiative in their tasks, learn about the Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance industry, extract and analyze competitive data, and leverage their technical and data analytic skills. They will also have the opportunity to present their findings and make recommendations regarding product or pricing changes, or new product builds, under the guidance of their assigned team.
