About the position

The Product Manager for the Air Systems Division at Exotic Automation & Supply is responsible for providing technical support and promoting air systems products and services within the organization. This role involves collaborating with staff and management to deliver product training, technical support, and recommendations for new products and services. The Product Manager will develop strategies for sales, ensuring that the assigned products and product groups are effectively marketed and supported. This includes creating detailed customer proposals, enhancing profitability through productivity improvements, and managing inventory recommendations. The position also requires fostering positive relationships with suppliers and addressing customer concerns regarding non-conforming materials. In addition to these responsibilities, the Product Manager will assist in the development of long-term business plans and sales forecasts, while actively searching for new customer targets to meet sales growth objectives. The role involves working closely with the Supplier Management Team to develop contracts with suppliers and distributors, as well as providing field applications, system designs, and enhancements for customer products. The Product Manager will also be responsible for identifying key competitors and providing feedback to the sales management team, creating and driving sales promotions, and managing special supplier programs. The position requires the Product Manager to provide training at all levels to ensure product expertise across the organization. This includes identifying target accounts and leading Account Managers in efforts to increase sales of air products. The Product Manager will also assist with the creation of marketing materials and coordinate product line-specific trade shows and open house activities. Overall, the role is pivotal in supporting a positive work environment and achieving the goals set forth by the Board of Directors.

Responsibilities

  • Plan strategy for sales of assigned products and provide technical knowledge/training.
  • Provide timely reports summarizing findings on products or projects.
  • Document and provide detailed customer proposals.
  • Enhance profit through productivity, customer service, quality, and cost reduction.
  • Make inventory recommendations.
  • Provide product information support on assigned product groups.
  • Promote positive supplier relationships.
  • Manage customer concerns and non-conforming material processes.
  • Recommend process improvements.
  • Assist management in developing long/short-term business plans and preparing sales forecasts.
  • Search and develop new customer targets to achieve sales growth objectives.
  • Work with Supplier Management Team to develop supplier and distributor contracts.
  • Responsible for field applications, system designs, and customer product developments/enhancements.
  • Introduce new technologies and identify key competitors/competitive products.
  • Create and drive sales promotions and manage special supplier programs.
  • Provide training at all levels for product expertise.
  • Identify target accounts and lead Account Managers in selling air products.
  • Make joint sales calls with Account Managers.
  • Work with technical representatives, distributors, marketing, and product teams to adapt products to customer needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Five plus years in an industrial sales role, preferably in the air compressor industry.
  • Excellent customer service attributes and customer orientation.
  • Intermediate PC/MS Office skills.
  • Basic understanding of inventory control procedures.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize and coordinate work activities.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills to support company initiatives.
  • Interpersonal skills for effective communication with associates, customers, and management.
  • Demonstrated teamwork approach with superiors, peers, and subordinates.
