About the position

The Product Manager for Allocations & Contracts in Ocean Freight at DSV is responsible for developing and executing product strategies that enhance product performance and ensure customer satisfaction. This role involves managing relationships with ocean carriers, optimizing yield, and driving growth in trade volumes while maintaining accountability for customer commitments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute product strategies to improve product performance.
  • Manage buying fixed & floating rate products and space commitments from ocean carriers.
  • Secure advantageous terms for DSV based on buying power and establish service level expectations with ocean carriers.
  • Deliver on carrier volume commitments and optimize VID income.
  • Assign customer volume commitments by carrier to fulfill volume awards and address variances.
  • Guide Branches & Sales to implement optimal price/service/routing combinations.
  • Drive growth in trade volumes by identifying and prioritizing opportunities for FCL products.
  • Provide long-term selling rate guidance for contract terms up to 12 months validity.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with carrier management and decision-makers.
  • Provide market insights and risk mitigation strategies to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, logistics, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in transportation and logistics industry roles.
  • 1 year of experience as a Product Manager (mandatory).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of the transportation and logistics industry.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience with data analysis and market research.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in business administration or a related field.
  • Experience with international logistics and freight forwarding.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific software and technology platforms.
