About the position

As a Product Manager for Asset Modeling at Hitachi Energy, you will play a crucial role in supporting business results by overseeing all steps in the product/service life cycle. This includes roadmap development, product launch, maintenance, releases, pricing, and ensuring profitability according to market needs and the Product Group's strategy and targets. You will be responsible for the Asset Modeling product line, which encompasses production cost models and generation/capacity expansion models. Your role will involve owning the technical and market specifications for existing or new products and services, determining a business plan that supports sustainable growth, and leading the life cycle management process. This includes analyzing current products, defining and tracking performance metrics, and planning appropriate measures such as enhancements, cost reductions, and phase-outs to maximize profitability and meet market requirements. In addition to managing existing products, you will contribute to the development of new portfolios by leading customer needs and value analysis, planning the roadmap to create maximum value, and following up on product and service portfolio performance. You will prioritize new product and service development projects, ensuring that targets are achieved while coordinating cross-functional teams. Your responsibilities will also include owning and approving defined product and services development process stage gates, defining product/service pricing guidelines, and driving the annual business planning process. You will act as an interface between the external market and internal functions, forecasting market and product direction, and providing inputs to ensure alignment of bandwidth and skill sets. You will initiate and drive the product market communication strategy, including product launch planning and implementation, while managing different channel-to-market scenarios in coordination with channel partners and Marketing & Sales. Your role will also involve providing technical and commercial support to the sales force for critical negotiations, collaborating with internal teams to define the marketing plan, and ensuring clear communication of product customer value propositions. You will lead innovation initiatives, monitor market trends, and provide inputs to R&D for intellectual property rights protection. Additionally, you will coordinate analysis to evaluate market conditions and contribute to marketing plan development, working closely with Pre-sales/Industry Solution Executives to differentiate the company from competitors. Finally, you will ensure that your area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled, and directed, guiding and developing indirect subordinates in alignment with HR policies. Responsibilities

  • Oversee all steps in the product/service life cycle including roadmap development, launch, maintenance, releases, pricing, and profitability.
  • Own the technical and market specification for existing or new products and services.
  • Lead life cycle management process, analyze current products, define and track performance metrics, and plan appropriate measures.
  • Set technical, price, cost, and capital expenditure targets as needed.
  • Contribute to the development of new portfolios by leading customer needs and value analysis.
  • Prioritize new products and service development projects and coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Own and approve defined product and services development process stage gates.
  • Define product/service pricing guidelines and market position to ensure profitability.
  • Drive the annual business planning process and facilitate agreement between sales demand and supply.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, Mathematics, Economics or related technical area.
  • Work authorization to permit employment in the United States.
  • Post graduate degree and experience is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of software product management experience is a plus.
  • Real world experience or awareness of energy production cost model usage in transmission planning, generation planning, energy trading or research application.
  • Ten years' experience in the energy markets focused on energy data, production cost modeling and energy market planning is a plus.
  • Strong collaboration skills working in Agile Scrum environment.
  • Strong presentation skills and strategic thinking.
  • Business-minded approach.
