About the position

The Cable Product Manager at Supermicro will be responsible for introducing cable solutions into various server and storage systems, addressing market opportunities. This role involves providing product support across electrical, mechanical, and thermal aspects, as well as troubleshooting issues. The manager will articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Participate in cross-functional operations teams, including Engineering, Commodity Management, Supply Chain, and Quality teams.
• Partner closely with design engineering and operation's technical teams to assess and drive all program risks.
• Plan and drive execution of engineering development builds through ramp up.
• Review vendor product specifications and perform product qualification plans, entering data accurately into the company's database systems.
• Support Sales, Engineering, and Procurement on customer-related cable issues.
• Manage development with the System team for cable solutions.
• Demonstrate leadership to manage a small team of product managers if needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree / Master Degree in Electrical Engineering with at least three years of relevant working experience preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience and familiarity with cable solutions for Server/Storage products is preferred.
• Program/Project Management experience is a plus.
• Ability to create positive relationships with internal and external team members.
• Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions.
• Understand high-speed cable and power safety regulations and RoHS specifications for worldwide customers.
