About the position

The Category Marketing Manager at Cardinal Health is responsible for leveraging manufacturer trade funds to develop marketing plans that enhance product distribution and drive category growth. This role involves building strong relationships with key suppliers, identifying new market opportunities, and ensuring that contractual marketing obligations are met. The manager will also oversee the execution of supplier and private label plans to achieve category goals.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage manufacturer trade funds to develop marketing plans that increase product distribution and category growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
  • Identify new market opportunities and ensure contractual marketing obligations are met.
  • Drive successful execution of supplier and private label plans to meet category goals.
  • Develop annual promotional calendar with metrics and key performance indicators to ensure revenue and profitability growth.
  • Gain cross-functional support among stakeholders for the execution of marketing solutions and program portfolios.
  • Demonstrate strong financial acumen and logical decision-making in business environments.
  • Ensure alignment of promotional, launch, and marketing activities with overall portfolio strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 4-8 years of experience in marketing, advertising, or a related field preferred.
  • Retail marketing and/or business-to-business marketing experience preferred.
  • Strong business and financial acumen.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized and timeline-driven.
  • Proficient to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated success defining and launching solutions/products.
  • Strong background in Product/Program Management and Product/Program Marketing.
  • Experience translating market and customer needs into defined requirements and strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
