About the position

As a Product Manager for Commercial Property at Verisk, you will play a pivotal role in leading market analyses to identify potential opportunities and gaps within the commercial property insurance sector. Your responsibilities will include understanding and communicating the competitive landscape, engaging proactively with customers to gather feedback, and iterating on product innovations and enhancements based on this feedback. You will be tasked with building and strengthening customer relationships, identifying business needs, and translating market insights into actionable business cases that enhance Verisk's market position. In this role, you will refine and reiterate effective messaging and positioning of the solution's value proposition across various customer segments, from underwriters to C-Suite level stakeholders. You will collaborate closely with product development teams, including coverage, actuarial, and analytics, as well as marketing, customer engagement, pricing, project management, and sales teams to ensure that solutions are delivered in alignment with customer needs. Additionally, you will partner with writing and marketing teams to provide industry thought leadership through white papers, articles, presentations, and customer conversations. This position requires a strong understanding of the commercial property insurance market, with 5 to 10 years of experience in underwriting, actuarial, or insurance product development/product management. You will need to possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be comfortable presenting to industry executives while also being able to dive into the details of complex quantitative problems. Your ability to think critically, solve analytical problems, and negotiate effectively will be essential to your success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead market analyses to identify potential opportunities or gaps and areas of focus.
  • Understand and communicate the competitive landscape.
  • Engage proactively in customer feedback and iteration sessions to validate and uncover product innovations and enhancements.
  • Build and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Identify business needs and market insights; translate data into business cases that enhance Verisk's market position.
  • Refine and reiterate effective messaging and positioning of the solution's value proposition for various customer segments.
  • Liaise with product development, marketing, customer engagement, pricing, project management, sales, and executives to ensure solution delivery driven by customer needs.
  • Partner with writing and marketing teams to provide industry thought leadership through white papers, articles, presentations, and customer conversations.

Requirements

  • 5 to 10 years underwriting, actuarial, or insurance product development/product management experience in Commercial Property.
  • Strong operating understanding of the Commercial Property insurance market/industry.
  • Ability to dive into product and market details and data, and to communicate broad concepts to stakeholders and executives.
  • Passionate about enabling customer success with strong business acumen and results-driven mindset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Comfortable speaking in front of industry executives and solving complex quantitative problems.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical problem-solving, and negotiating skills; business creativity is a must.
