Product Manager (Cortex Xpanse - Federal)

About the position

The Product Manager for Cortex Xpanse - Federal at Palo Alto Networks is responsible for managing a critical area of the Xpanse roadmap that caters specifically to US national defense entities and federal agencies. This role involves close collaboration with engineering, deployment managers, and sales teams to understand and address the unique needs of government customers, ensuring the development of relevant features and capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with deployment managers and sales teams to understand government customers' unique needs.
• Build and maintain a prioritized roadmap of features for key government clientele.
• Collaborate with engineering and design teams to prioritize work and ensure the right product is being built.
• Work with GTM and product marketing teams to highlight Cortex's capabilities for government organizations.

Requirements

• Must be willing and able to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret/SCI Clearance (active clearance preferred).
• 2+ years experience in product management or supporting government customers in a technical role.
• Background in US national security and cybersecurity.
• Knowledge of federal organizations and functions.
• Experience communicating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Curiosity and ability to understand customer problems and workflows.
• Ability to persuade and influence cross-functional teams.
• Comfort with ambiguity and decision-making with imperfect information.
• Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Local to the DC metro area.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge or experience with FedRAMP, CMMC, or other federal cybersecurity compliance programs.
• High-level understanding of computer networks and protocols.
• Familiarity with Google BigQuery, SQL, or other query languages.
• Experience supporting operational cyber exercises and missions.
• Experience supporting national-level cyber response missions.
• Understanding of cyber threat hunt activities.
