About the position

The Product Manager for Cutting Tools Reconditioning is responsible for marketing and sales of high-performance surface solution technologies for reconditioned cutting tools in the United States, particularly focusing on the Southern states. This role involves expanding the customer base, providing technical consultative sales support, and managing key project accounts. The incumbent will work closely with Territory Account Managers and internal teams to drive business growth and develop new applications for cutting tool solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise regarding new technology coating solutions.
  • Drive the business and develop opportunities for Oerlikon Balzers high performance technologies.
  • Manage and grow assigned key accounts.
  • Represent Oerlikon Balzers in the marketplace and effectively communicate the value of solutions.
  • Act as spokesperson as required.
  • Develop new business by collaborating with production staff and other Product Managers.
  • Manage new growth projects independently and orchestrate support functions.
  • Conduct tests and document results in detail, interacting with segment experts nationwide and globally.
  • Assist sales team members in prospecting for future business and building long-term relationships.
  • Conduct Customer Seminars and communicate clearly for internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 7-10 years of experience using industrial cutting tools.
  • 3+ years of experience with service or consultative sales approach.
  • Broad understanding of manufacturing processes from users' perspective.
  • Experience working in the industrial machining sector.
  • Strong connections and solid reputation in target industries.
  • Knowledge regarding Surface Treatments (PVD/PPD) solutions preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint).
  • Effective verbal and writing skills with strong presentation skills.
  • Energetic, goals-driven, result-oriented, and high-energy personality.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Automotive, e-mobility, Aerospace, Industrial, and Manufacturing markets.
  • Familiarity with Balzers CRM (customer information) database.
