About the position
The Product Manager for the Detection Engine at Google Cloud Security Operations is responsible for guiding products from conception to launch, focusing on threat detection and user experience. This role involves collaborating with various teams to develop and enhance technologies that improve cybersecurity solutions for users. The position requires a strong understanding of the cybersecurity market and the ability to manage the product lifecycle effectively.
Responsibilities
- Understand cybersecurity markets, competition, and user requirements.
- Deliver the entire life cycle for new products and features, test their performance, and iterate quickly.
- Help manage the overall road map by identifying new opportunities and effectively prioritizing requests from customers, partners, and engineering teams.
- Work collaboratively with Engineering, Marketing, Legal, UX, and other cross-functional teams on technologies.
- Advocate your product internally (including senior leadership updates) and externally (Google events, public events, press releases).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
- Experience developing or launching products or technologies within the cybersecurity area.
Nice-to-haves
- 5 years of experience in product management across the entire development life cycle.
- Experience with threat detection engineering.
- Experience managing day-to-day technical and design direction.
- Experience developing and scaling SaaS products/technologies.
- Ability to influence multiple stakeholders without direct authority.
