About the position

The Product Manager for the Detection Engine at Google Cloud Security Operations is responsible for guiding the development and launch of cybersecurity products, specifically focusing on threat detection. This role involves collaborating with various teams to connect technical and business aspects, ensuring that products meet user needs and market demands. The position requires a strong understanding of cybersecurity markets and the ability to manage product roadmaps effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Understand cybersecurity markets, competition, and user requirements.
  • Deliver the entire life cycle for new products and features, test their performance, and iterate quickly.
  • Help manage the overall road map by identifying new opportunities and effectively prioritizing requests from customers, partners, and engineering teams.
  • Work collaboratively with Engineering, Marketing, Legal, UX, and other cross-functional teams on technologies.
  • Advocate your product internally (including senior leadership updates) and externally (Google events, public events, press releases).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
  • Experience developing or launching products or technologies within the cybersecurity area.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5 years of experience in product management across the entire development life cycle.
  • Experience with threat detection engineering.
  • Experience managing day-to-day technical and design direction.
  • Experience developing and scaling SaaS products/technologies.
  • Ability to influence multiple stakeholders without direct authority.
