About the position

ECU Health is seeking a Product Manager to join the Digital Health and Innovation team at ECU Health Information Services (IS). This position is critical in driving the development and implementation of cutting-edge healthcare technology solutions at ECU Health. The Product Manager will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of innovation across ECU Health, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team that collectively aims to identify, rigorously evaluate, and facilitate the implementation of emerging technology to achieve excellence across digital health, research, and innovation domains. The role requires a strong commitment to technology from a human-centered lens, emphasizing empathy-driven interactions between patients, healthcare providers, and health technologies. The Product Manager will lead the product development lifecycle for Digital Health and Innovation Team projects, ensuring a user-centered and high-quality end-user experience from concept to implementation. This includes collaborating and facilitating cross-functional teams, including clinicians, analysts, health IT vendors, and operational leaders, to effectively leverage innovative digital health technology solutions at ECU Health. The Product Manager will also develop a product roadmap that aligns with the strategic goals of the ECU Health Innovation team and the academic health system goals. In addition, the Product Manager will lead multidisciplinary design workshops and structured brainstorming sessions for new innovation project ideas, utilizing brainstorming tools such as prototypes, mock-ups, and idea boards. Regular market research will be performed to understand user needs and emerging trends in digital health and health IT. The role also involves planning and executing usability testing, synthesizing user feedback into the refinement of technology planned for implementation, and serving as the point of contact for any regulatory or compliance considerations for new technology adoption. Furthermore, the Product Manager will develop and execute communication and marketing campaigns for product launches and/or Go-Lives for innovation projects, working collaboratively with data analysts, data scientists, and project managers to ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are monitored after product launch.

Responsibilities

  • Lead product development lifecycle for Digital Health and Innovation Team projects including concept to implementation, ensuring user center and high-quality end-user experience.
  • Collaborate and facilitate cross-functional teams including clinicians, analysts, health IT vendors, and operational leaders to effectively leverage innovative digital health technology solutions at ECU Health.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to clearly define features, functionalities, and product requirements of innovative technology solutions adopted by ECU Health.
  • Regularly perform market research to understand user needs and emerging trends in digital health and health IT.
  • Lead the planning and execution of usability testing and synthesizing user feedback into the refinement of technology planned for implementation.
  • Serve as point of contact between any regulatory or compliance considerations for new technology adoption.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, Statistics, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 3 years of related experience.
  • Strong foundation of software development methodologies.
  • Excellent organizational skills and project management.
  • Strong understanding of health IT data privacy and security practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Agile project management methods.
  • Prior training and/or certification in human-centered design.
  • Familiarity or willingness to learn procedures around electronic health records (EHR) and other health IT application systems change management as it relates to innovation team projects.
