About the position

The Product Manager for Global Marketing at Abbott Laboratories is responsible for the strategic planning and execution of marketing initiatives for specific market segments or products. This role involves developing and implementing marketing plans to enhance product placement within the competitive landscape, managing projects, and leading cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals. The position requires a solid understanding of healthcare marketing, particularly in medical devices and diagnostics, and the ability to work independently while mentoring others.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and execute strategic and tactical marketing initiatives to maximize business impact of products/projects.
  • Participate in annual departmental budgeting processes by providing relevant data points.
  • Lead and/or participate on cross-functional teams in support of organizational goals.
  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) within the assigned market segment and interface with internal and external customers and partners.
  • Understand and comply with applicable EHS policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Implement and maintain the effectiveness of the Quality System.
  • Manage single or multiple smaller products/projects or function within a specific role in a larger project.
  • Plan and organize project assignments of substantial variety and complexity.
  • Initiate or maintain schedules for projects and project milestones.
  • Establish priorities of individual or project assignments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum 8 years related work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years with exposure to sales and/or marketing in healthcare, medical devices, or medical diagnostics.
  • Understanding of the technology and capabilities of the Division's products and market/customer dynamics.
  • Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting medical devices/diagnostics.
  • Ability to lead and influence without direct authority.
  • Ability to work independently and in groups, cross-functionally.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree or MBA is preferred.
