About the position

The Product Manager II for Distribution Consulting at Principal Financial Group will focus on developing and implementing strategies for participant distribution consulting, particularly in the context of retirement and income solutions. This role involves collaborating with various teams to enhance product offerings, drive growth, and ensure compliance with industry standards while delivering valuable solutions to participants transitioning their assets.

Responsibilities

  • Define key business outcomes and requirements for the Roll-in product offering and Distribution Consulting service.
  • Develop multi-staged product roadmaps for the Participant Roll-in and Distribution Consulting rollover strategies.
  • Collaborate with marketing and project management to accurately represent the product and drive growth through campaign initiatives.
  • Partner with participant-facing engagement team leaders to ensure staffing and volume alignment with product goals.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and review product data to identify opportunities and articulate hypotheses.
  • Work with compliance to ensure adherence to required advice policies and fiduciary requirements.
  • Improve data aggregation and asset consolidation using technology for enhanced scalability across channels.
  • Evaluate experiments and communicate findings to collaborators and customers.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of business, technology, or product management experience.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to influence and negotiate with collaborators at all levels.
  • In-depth knowledge of the company and the industry, and comprehensive knowledge of technology's role in solving business problems.
  • Understanding of modern product discovery and delivery techniques.
  • Strong critical thinking, collaboration, and decision-making skills.
