The Communications Platforms & Intelligence team at Uber is dedicated to enabling the company to engage with its customers across various channels, regions, business lines, and end-users through billions of real-time, intelligent, personalized interactions each year. This team is responsible for building the systems, APIs, and mobile libraries that empower hundreds of teams within Uber to send billions of emails, SMS, push notifications, and in-app messages annually. As part of our commitment to maintaining leadership in privacy-compliant marketing, we are seeking a dedicated Product Manager (PM) who can collaborate with Marketing, Technology, and Legal/Privacy teams to navigate the evolving landscape of privacy regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong consumer-oriented product skills, enabling them to build, test, and iterate experiences that assist Uber's users in setting effective preferences across various marketing channels. This PM will be tasked with defining and prioritizing business requirements across a diverse range of stakeholders and will work closely with technology teams to bring these capabilities to fruition. Additionally, the PM will partner with legal and privacy teams to develop a strategic roadmap that facilitates compliant user engagement by Uber's marketing and product teams. A deep understanding of privacy and compliance regulations, particularly CAN-SPAM, CASL, CPRA, CCPA, DMA, and GDPR, is highly desirable. In this role, the PM will also manage Uber's preference centers and consent management for different communication channels while collaborating with marketing teams to execute strategies aimed at maximizing the total addressable audience. The PM will work with Marketing, Product, and Legal teams to define privacy and compliance requirements for marketing communications, evaluate use cases, and assess business impact and value. They will need to deeply understand business needs to effectively organize and prioritize the technology roadmap, build a backlog of legal and privacy impacts, and manage risks. Strong collaboration with marketing, legal, and martech teams is essential to achieve strategic goals, and the PM will need to understand how end-users interact with various channels (Push, SMS, Email) and Uber's core product (app and web) to ensure timely and relevant customer experiences. Data-driven decision-making will be crucial for prioritizing high-impact initiatives across multiple stakeholders, and the PM will lead a cross-functional team of Engineers, Data Scientists, and Analysts to set qualitative objectives and quantitative goals, ultimately delivering quality products. Clear communication of plans, insights, data, and results to executives and cross-functional teams is also a key responsibility.
