About the position

The Product Manager III for the Customer Data Platform at Fanatics Collectibles will lead the development and management of data products, focusing on leveraging a vast database of global sports fans to create data-driven solutions. This role is essential for enhancing decision-making capabilities and driving business value through scalable data solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the conceptualization, development, and ongoing enhancement of data products, including the Customer Data Platform (CDP), APIs, analytics tools, and dashboards.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive product roadmaps for data initiatives, aligning with overall business objectives and leveraging cutting-edge data technologies, including AI and ML capabilities.
  • Own the governance and accuracy of customer data, deriving features and fields to create a 360-degree view of customers, including their preferences and behaviors.
  • Translate complex business requirements and stakeholder needs into clear, actionable product specifications and technical tasks for data science and engineering teams.
  • Design and implement data models and self-service tools that enable internal teams to effectively leverage the CDP data for insights, personalization, and decision-making.
  • Establish and maintain robust data governance practices, ensuring data quality, privacy, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including TLC business units, Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, and Analytics to identify opportunities for data-driven improvements in business operations.
  • Drive the adoption of the CDP across the organization, creating documentation, training materials, and best practices for leveraging data effectively.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to data products, continuously iterating and improving based on user feedback and data insights.
  • Manage and prioritize a backlog of data-related features and improvements, balancing short-term needs with long-term strategic goals.
  • Oversee the integration of AI and machine learning capabilities into the CDP for enhanced personalization, forecasting, and to enable ML models across various business functions.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in product management, with at least 2 years focused on data products or platforms.
  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in SQL, Python, and cloud-based data technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Extensive experience using self-service analytics and BI dashboarding tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, Alteryx).
  • Demonstrated success in building and scaling data products that drive business value.
  • Deep understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration techniques.
  • Experience with various types of data products, such as analytics platforms, data warehouses, machine learning models, and business intelligence tools.
  • Familiarity with AI and machine learning applications in data products.
  • Strong knowledge of data privacy regulations and best practices in data governance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data concepts into business value.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, adept at collaborating with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business, or a related field.
  • Agile/Scrum project management experience.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $144,000-$180,000, which represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation.
