About the position

The Product Manager for In-Person Payments at Xplor Technologies is responsible for leading the strategy and execution of terminal solutions in the United States, ensuring alignment with global payment objectives. This role involves collaborating with vendors, overseeing terminal setup and deployment, and driving the adoption of innovative payment solutions. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess strong analytical skills, and demonstrate effective stakeholder management to enhance the company's payment acceptance capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement in-person payment acceptance strategy, working closely with vendors like Adyen and Stripe.
  • Own the terminal strategy specifically in the United States market, ensuring alignment with overall global objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to drive the adoption of innovative payment solutions, such as tap to pay and QR code payments.
  • Explore and navigate the cultural differences and nuances in payment preferences across regions including APAC, EU, UK, Canada, and the Philippines.
  • Ensure terminal-based solutions meet business objectives and develop plans to address any gaps.
  • Oversee equipment setup and provisioning for a quick onboarding experience.
  • Select equipment deployment vendors and improve distribution processes.
  • Develop the issue escalation process for terminal issues.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape.
  • Work closely with Visa and other partners to enhance payment acceptance.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and competitive landscape to identify market opportunities.
  • Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products.
  • Support the Group Product Manager in developing business plans and action plans to achieve revenue targets.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales enablement to develop Go-to-Market strategies.
  • Measure product adoption metrics and other key business metrics to increase revenue or reduce costs.
  • Align with technical product owners to prioritize the backlog of features.
  • Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data to measure product success.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in product management.
  • 2+ years prior experience with US based terminals.
  • Strong knowledge and experience working with Visa and global payment acceptance solutions.
  • Proven record of developing and executing successful product strategies in a global context.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making approach.
  • Experience in payments technology or SaaS software is highly desired.
  • Direct experience with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Bachelor's degree is required; an MBA is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in helping support, sell, or go to market involvement of POS systems.
  • Operational and financial astuteness is a plus.
