About the position

The Product Manager - Industrial at Twin Disc is responsible for the growth and development of product lines, focusing on profitability throughout the product life cycle. This role involves defining long-term strategies, creating product road maps, and managing new products from concept to production. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and strong communication skills to effectively present products and strategies to both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Define the long-term strategy of the assigned product-line, creating a product road map.
  • Identify current product gaps and determine product modification needs.
  • Manage new products from concept to design, through production, and throughout the product life cycle.
  • Formulate detailed engineering projects based on new product ideas and modifications.
  • Determine when products need to be phased-out and create transition plans.
  • Research products, markets, and competitors to identify customer needs and requirements.
  • Report on market developments and trends, making recommendations to senior management.
  • Develop pricing strategies and oversee product line profitability to achieve margin targets.
  • Understand channels to market and develop strategies to maximize profitability.
  • Develop product packaging solutions to promote and grow sales.
  • Assist the sales team by providing product knowledge and technical support.
  • Conduct product presentations to internal and external customers.
  • Develop sales tools and training materials.
  • Maintain electronic databases for price lists and technical documents.
  • Perform customer visits, attend trade shows, and gather market information.
  • Collaborate with marketing on developing marketing collateral and advertising.
  • Forecast annual and long-range sales targets for each product in the product family.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
  • 5 - 10 years' experience in Product Management or Applications Engineering in a mechanical powertrain and driveline environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience using a CRM, with Salesforce CRM experience being a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills and listening skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems using sound judgment.
  • Ability to conduct product/application training.
  • Broad technical knowledge of Twin Disc products and their applications.
  • Detailed knowledge of Twin Disc's markets, competitors, and their products.
  • Experience in researching and analyzing market data.
