About the position

The Product Manager for Ion Chromatography at Thermo Fisher Scientific is responsible for the global strategic direction of the ion chromatography product portfolio. This role encompasses accountability for revenue, profitability, and growth of the product lines, requiring a deep understanding of customer needs and market conditions. The position involves managing the product lifecycle from inception to retirement, collaborating with various teams, and ensuring alignment with business strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for product revenue and margin across assigned product lines.
  • Prepares business plans and financial models; manages the P&L for assigned product(s).
  • Analyzes and evaluates findings to drive and improve performance.
  • Responsible for portfolio roadmap and strategy for assigned area of responsibility.
  • Manages lifecycle of a product from inception to retirement.
  • Reports and supports resolution of product quality and compliance issues.
  • Conducts gap analysis and makes recommendations for product improvements.
  • Influences product strategy based on global market and competitor dynamics.
  • Participates in Voice of the Customer and competitor research.
  • Collaborates with Project Managers on project plans for new product introductions.
  • Accountable for the pricing strategy for assigned product line.
  • Collaborates on product support strategy to ensure positive customer experience.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert and supports development of junior colleagues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific or business field.
  • 3-5+ years of related experience required; prior Product Management experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced degree (MS, Ph.D., or MBA) highly desirable.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% - domestic & international.
  • Strong analytical reasoning and market knowledge.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills.
