About the position

The Product Manager for LLM Data Acquisition and Production at ByteDance is responsible for leading the data production strategies necessary for training large language models (LLMs) across global markets. This role involves collaboration with technical teams to define data requirements, develop methodologies for data acquisition, and ensure high standards of data quality. The position also focuses on evaluating data production tools and proactively addressing biases in the data production process, contributing to the overall effectiveness and quality of the models being developed.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with technical teams to precisely define the data requirements necessary for aligning Large Language Models (LLMs) across global markets.
  • Develop methodologies for data acquisition and production, while also monitoring costs and assessing the effectiveness and efficiency of these processes.
  • Evaluate the impact of data production tools on the effectiveness and quality of data production.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential biases and vulnerabilities in the data production process.

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of alignment and related approaches, such as Supervised Fine-Tuning (SFT), Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF), and others.
  • Minimum of three years of experience as a product manager or product strategist, including process design experience.
