About the position

Cognizant is seeking a Product Manager/Product Owner to join our Banking and Financial Services (BFS) Consulting practice. This role is critical in delivering high-quality client deliverables and ensuring that client expectations are met without supervision. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and prioritizing product backlogs, collaborating with business stakeholders to develop impactful product features, and leading conversations between business and technology teams to define product requirements. This position requires a strong understanding of the Banking, Financial Services, Asset & Wealth Management, and Capital Markets domains, as well as experience in applying Generative AI concepts to product feature delivery. As a Senior Manager, you will be accountable for creating high-quality client deliverables, developing expertise in your functional area, and contributing to client satisfaction and RFPs. You will also support leadership in content development for service offerings and participate in People Care initiatives. The role demands excellent communication and coordination skills, the ability to make quick informed decisions, and a creative mindset to deliver innovative solutions that address critical business needs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring that all necessary testing is completed for each feature and that scrum ceremonies are followed diligently. This position is onsite at a client location, and the ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Product Owner in Wealth Management, Capital Markets, or Banking & Financial Services, with a proven track record of delivering projects using Generative AI capabilities. A Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited institution is required, along with certifications in Gen AI, SAFe POPM, and SAFE Agile being a plus. Responsibilities

• Manage and prioritize backlogs, collaborating and representing Business Stakeholders in developing impactful product features
• Apply Generative AI Concepts for product features delivery
• Lead conversations between the Business and Technology to determine the what and the how of the product features
• Partner with other Product Managers and Directors to elaborate features and user stories for PI and Sprint planning cycles
• Develop and write user stories that align to the product features, ensuring that user stories meet the Definition of Ready (DoR) and oversee their delivery to meet the Definition of Done (DoD)
• Develop partnerships with other technical and operational teams and maintain working rapport with others, leveraging these relationships to meet common project milestone/goal
• Accountable for ensuring all necessary testing completed for each feature
• Collaborate closely with the scrum master to ensure all scrum ceremonies are followed in a disciplined manner
• Exhibit excellent communication and coordination skills
• Make quick informed decisions and understand clear priorities, escalating as needed
• Deliver innovative solutions to address critical business needs, demonstrating agility and the ability to pivot plans as necessary

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited college or university and equivalent relevant experience
• Minimum 5 years of Product Owner experience in Wealth Management/Capital Markets/Banking & Financial Services delivering projects using Generative AI capability experience is mandatory
• Hands-on experience with large integration products & platforms
• Ability to coordinate well with business and product teams and independently analyze and propose solutions
• Experience dealing with cross-functional teams on impact analysis and dependencies
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Data Analysis skills, and SAFe Agile Experience (Epics, Stories, Working in Scrum/Sprint)
• Strong product background and the ability to generate new business ideas and convert them into tangible product features
• Demonstrated experience in problem solving and developing/integrating products from scratch
• Experience in bringing together cross-functional teams and leading execution in an agile delivery model
• Ability to handle ambiguity and white space
• Demonstrated examples of building and launching products
