About the position

Downstream Marketing at Cardinal Health plays a crucial role in assessing customer needs, market conditions, and competition to inform business strategy and execute marketing initiatives that align with business goals. The Product and Channel Downstream Marketing team is responsible for defining the market, driving channel strategy, and growing product penetration across relevant channels and markets. This encompasses various aspects such as life cycle management, market research, product or service commercialization, pricing, positioning, promotion, branding, and more, all aimed at driving customer loyalty, business growth, and profitability. The OptiFreight® Logistics team is seeking a teammate for a hybrid marketing role that encompasses both channel marketing and product marketing responsibilities. This position is accountable for executing essential channel marketing initiatives, including tradeshow strategy and execution, as well as product marketing deliverables such as sales enablement through customer and market discovery, pipeline development and management, product positioning, and KPI tracking. The role requires coordination across functions to share insights and gain alignment on the path forward, manage relationships with internal and external partners, and report on the performance of marketing campaigns and initiatives. Key responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders to develop and document goals and key performance indicators for each product and/or service in the portfolio, executing marketing strategies against established goals for return on investment and product health metrics, managing and developing content to support channel and product strategy, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies. The role also involves monitoring key performance indicators throughout campaigns and the product life cycle, making necessary adjustments to strategy and customer targeting, and owning elements of product launches, including sales enablement training and external market promotions. Additionally, the position requires performing analyses of data from marketing campaigns and coordinating with Business Intelligence teams to track performance, as well as hosting sales training and discovery calls to ensure all critical teams have the necessary information to commercialize and grow the product effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders from various functions to develop and document goals and key performance indicators for each product and/or service in the portfolio.
  • Execute marketing strategies against established goals for return on investment and product health metrics.
  • Manage and develop content to support channel and product strategy, ensuring quality and alignment with marketing objectives.
  • Coordinate with the Legal team to ensure all content is compliant with relevant regulations and internal policies.
  • Monitor key performance indicators throughout campaigns and the product life cycle, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Own elements and broader support for related product launches, including sales enablement training and external market promotions.
  • Support ongoing and measurable sales enablement trainings to ensure all critical teams have necessary information to efficiently commercialize and grow the product.
  • Perform analyses of data from marketing campaigns, pipeline, or market intelligence, coordinating with Business Intelligence teams as necessary.
  • Report on the performance of marketing campaigns during regular meetings with senior management.
  • Host broader sales training and discovery calls, managing ongoing meetings with internal stakeholders.
  • Summarize and communicate key performance indicators, providing insights on performance.
  • Analyze market research, trends, projections, and innovations to formulate concepts for new marketing campaigns and approaches.
  • Develop understanding of competitive landscape and participate in industry conferences to promote products and services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; advanced degree preferred.
  • 4-8 years' experience in a related field preferred.
  • Familiarity with logistics, especially in healthcare, and working knowledge of pharmacy operations, needs, and requirements for shipping and logistics.
  • Experience in channel development and marketing.
  • Experience supporting new product launches through commercialization and sales team enablement.
  • Ability to work independently, using good judgment and leadership abilities to manage short and long-term priorities and projects.
  • Demonstrates strong financial acumen and logical decision-making in a general business environment.
  • Understanding of pricing, deal structure, and assessing financial implications.
  • Basic knowledge of marketing disciplines and concepts necessary for building a business and marketing plan.
  • Ability to understand market trends and competitive positioning and adjust product offerings accordingly.
  • Proficient in mining research/data and interpreting findings to solve problems and tell a story.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Maintains a positive attitude with a focus on creative solutions and strong internal partnerships.
