About the position

The position involves partnering with cross-functional teams at Navy Federal Credit Union to identify opportunities, refine business outcomes, and drive the product roadmap for members. The role serves as a liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, defining product features and executing strategic plans for new product initiatives. The individual will own and prioritize the product backlog based on business objectives, member research, competitive dynamics, and data analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Define and support product initiatives that meet member and internal customer needs with minimal oversight.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the division's business objectives, risk tolerance, and member needs to proactively identify needs, problems, and solutions.
  • Support the end-to-end product development life cycle including ideation, product definition, build/prototyping, design, validation, and delivery.
  • Lead assigned product features from ideation to enhancements to post-delivery maintenance without formal authority.
  • Ensure alignment on outcomes that deliver tangible business value across Portfolio, Program, & Team layers.
  • Manage the program backlog, accountable for feature creation, acceptance, prioritization, delivery plans, and overall management.
  • Conduct market research on product features to understand current and future member needs.
  • Define, own, and communicate the product functions, vision, and roadmap while supporting the architectural runway.
  • Solve complex project-related problems of significant impact.
  • Focus on agile methodology by scoping iterative releases and collaborating with stakeholders to meet business goals.
  • Act as the voice of the internal team member and advocate for their needs.
  • Build partnerships and manage relationships with partners to implement innovative products and services.
  • Enable complex decision making for leaders around product features through clear communication.
  • Develop and implement change management strategies for product features.
  • Generate new ideas and recommendations that drive continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a business subject matter expert regarding product functions and their relation to other products and services.
  • Stay updated on industry and enterprise-wide applications landscape.
  • Act as a thought leader, driving competitive intelligence and analyzing customer insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Extensive product experience with a proven track record of successfully launching or managing products or platforms.
  • 3+ years of experience in product management or related roles.

  • Master's Degree in Business, Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
