Product Manager (Software Development)

About the position

PayPal, Inc. seeks Product Manager in San Jose, CA. The role involves driving software product execution for PayPal Payment platform's health and stability. Responsibilities include defining product requirements globally, representing software products to stakeholders, and making tradeoff decisions based on technical and business insights. The Product Manager will write specifications and user stories, participate in Quality Assurance, and work cross-functionally with key customers to build the right solutions. The position requires collaboration with internal stakeholders to understand and resolve technical challenges around global payment processing.

Responsibilities

• Drive software product execution for PayPal Payment platform's health and stability.
• Ensure product requirements are defined globally, with scale, SLAs, performance in mind.
• Represent software products to stakeholders and peers across PayPal.
• Evangelize payment platform product roadmap internally.
• Make tradeoff decisions based on technical and business insights.
• Write clear, detailed, and thorough specifications and user stories for complex features.
• Participate in the Quality Assurance process to ensure the final product meets business design.
• Work cross-functionally and build strong relationships with key customers.
• Design, build, and deploy the platform while working closely with engineering and business stakeholders.
• Collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders to tackle and resolve technical challenges.

Requirements

• Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Three years of experience in the job offered, software engineer, or a related occupation.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Spring Framework.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL.
• Experience with JUnit and Mockito and API testing.
• Familiarity with Software Design patterns.
• Experience with REST API.
• Knowledge of Maven and CI/CD.
• Experience with Redis.
• Familiarity with ActiveMQ.
• Proficiency in Git.
