About the position

As a Product Manager - Technical II at Mastercard, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of marketing technology within the organization. Your primary responsibility will be to develop a comprehensive product strategy that aligns with business needs, regional market opportunities, and emerging technology trends. You will utilize the Working Backwards method to break down business requirements and customer experiences into actionable features and user stories that will guide the product roadmap. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with Technical Program Managers, Developers, UX designers, and internal customers to ensure that the details behind business requirements are well-defined and articulated effectively to engineering teams and business partners. You will act as the voice of the business customer, ensuring accountability for the product roadmap and its successful execution. In this role, you will coordinate across various stakeholders to identify feature-level development opportunities and decompose business requirements into user stories and technical specifications. You will contribute to defining the product roadmap, prioritize the backlog, and establish acceptance criteria for user stories. Your analytical skills will be crucial as you recommend trade-off decisions on product features based on data and insights. You will own and manage product documentation, ensuring clarity and accessibility for engineering teams. By leveraging user research, metrics, and competitive analysis, you will gain a deep understanding of product and business needs, informing the backlog and guiding product development. You will also coordinate with interdependent teams to align on product requirements and work closely with design teams to enhance user experience. Continuous monitoring of feature development will be essential, allowing you to make adjustments throughout the implementation process. You will prepare for product launches, monitor performance, adoption, and operational health of feature sets, and support post-launch reviews to ensure feedback is reincorporated into future iterations. Staying aligned with go-to-market plans for the feature set will be a critical aspect of your role, as will identifying and addressing any issues that may hinder timely delivery of product features.

Responsibilities

  • Develop product strategy that defines roadmap objectives based on business needs, regional market opportunities, and technology trends.
  • Decompose business requirements and customer experiences into features and user stories using the Working Backwards method.
  • Collaborate with Technical Program Managers, Developers, UX designers, and internal customers to define business requirements.
  • Articulate requirements effectively with engineering teams and business partners.
  • Act as the voice of the business customer and be accountable for the product roadmap.

  • Elicit and decompose business requirements into user stories and technical requirements.
  • Contribute to defining the product roadmap and prioritize the backlog while defining acceptance criteria for user stories.
  • Recommend trade-off decisions on product features/backlog items based on data and insights.
  • Own and manage product documentation ensuring clarity and accessibility for engineering teams.
  • Utilize user research, metrics, and competitive analysis to inform the backlog and understand product needs.
