About the position

Blackhawk Network (BHN) is seeking a hands-on Technical Product Manager to join our Order and Fulfillment team. This hybrid position requires in-office presence on Mondays and Tuesdays, and it focuses on delivering scalable solutions and platforms that enable the growth of our current and future products and services in the FinTech space. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in iterative product development and will be responsible for managing the end-to-end lifecycle of our API First Branded Value Ordering solutions and services. This includes championing a top-tier API portal and crafting comprehensive documentation to ensure ease of access for developers. In this role, you will be tasked with building and maintaining developer relations, aligning platform capabilities with the company vision, and ensuring a solid financial understanding of our products. You will drive product strategy with a focus on business process automation, managing the concept to launch process in collaboration with internal experts, clients, technical program managers, and engineers. Your strategic ownership will cover the development of Blackhawk's Order & Fulfillment platform, which includes Prepaid - Open Loop, Closed Loop, Digital, and Incentive products. The Technical Product Manager will also be responsible for developing comprehensive guides and documentation for seamless API integration, building strong relationships with the developer community, and regularly evaluating the platform's ease of use and developer experience. You will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills for both executive and technical discussions, possess fantastic problem-solving abilities, and have a solid understanding of relevant technology, cloud solutions, and programming languages. Your leadership will be crucial in motivating cross-functional product development teams and ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and usability.

Responsibilities

  • Go to market for BHNs API First Branded Value Ordering solutions and services, wrapped in ‘easy to access' Developer Front Doors
  • End-to-end management of APIs, championing a top-tier API portal, and crafting comprehensive documentation
  • Build and maintain developer relations, align platform capabilities with the company vision, and ensure financial understanding
  • Drive product strategy with a proven track record and a focus on business process automation
  • Manage concept to launch, collaborating with internal experts, clients, technical program managers, and engineers
  • Strategically and tactically own product development for Blackhawk's Order & Fulfillment platform, covering Prepaid - Open Loop, Closed Loop, Digital, and Incentive products
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of the O&F platform's APIs, focusing on ease of understanding, comprehension, and integration
  • Champion the development of a state-of-the-art API developer portal, exceeding industry standards
  • Develop comprehensive guides and documentation for seamless API integration
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the developer community and gather feedback to ensure their needs are met
  • Work closely with Core Enterprise Platforms and technical teams to align platform capabilities with the larger company vision
  • Regularly evaluate the platform's ease of use and developer experience, driving improvements and refinements
  • Define and ship products iteratively, with a hands-on execution perspective
  • Transform product strategy into well-articulated business requirements using qualitative and quantitative data

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; MBA is a plus
  • 8+ years of technical product management in Enterprise, Business APIs, Platforms and Processing systems
  • Proven experience managing end-to-end product and platform launches using Scrum/Agile methodologies
  • Expert in Market Analysis, Business Case Development, Vision, Planning, and Implementation
  • Proficient in creating use-case, sequence diagrams, workflow, and domain model development
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with a solid technical background
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills for executive and technical discussions
  • Solid understanding of relevant technology, APIs, cloud solutions, and programming languages
  • Experience with cloud computing, service-oriented architecture, microservices, and event-driven architecture is a plus
  • Understanding of the Prepaid/Gift Cards/Payments space is a plus
