About the position

As a key member of the Product Management Group (PMG), the Product Manager for Work Management will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of IQGeo's products related to work management in the telecommunications and utilities markets. This position requires the ability to create strong working relationships and influence across executive leadership, within the PMG, engineering, and other functional groups. The Product Manager will help define and execute the product vision and strategy as outlined by the Head of Product Management, who is ultimately responsible for product direction and success. This is a business-facing role that engages directly with customers at all management levels to develop and refine portfolio strategy and influence customer direction. Candidates must possess a deep understanding of the target customers' domain, business, use cases, the IQGeo product functionality, and any constraints involved in creating desirable products for customers. The role encompasses every aspect of the IQGeo portfolio to ensure it delivers quality and value to end users. Responsibilities include gathering and prioritizing market and customer requirements, defining and executing the product roadmap, and collaborating closely with engineering, sales, delivery, marketing, and customer support to meet recurring revenue order goals and customer business objectives. The Product Manager will also monitor that the product's short, mid, and long-term development aligns with the overall product vision, strategy, and goals. As a domain expert in work management processes, successful candidates will demonstrate extensive knowledge in both the telecoms and utilities domains, including related processes such as network design, construction management, and operations. A solid background in geospatial, IT/technology, and cloud technology concepts as applied to these domains is also essential.

Responsibilities

  • Be the Voice of the Customer, understand what customers need, will buy, and their business imperatives.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the IQGeo work management application functionality.
  • Gather customer workflows and user stories/product requirements and clearly document them using IQGeo's preferred tools and effectively communicate them to the Engineering teams.
  • Understand the competition, their positioning and respond to this in the product vision and roadmap.
  • As a domain and technology subject matter expert in work management provide guidance and mentorship to other teams, particularly Engineering.
  • Regularly validate that ongoing product development is delivering value and meeting the outcomes of the specific workflows/use case(s).
  • Present and discuss products and related roadmaps with customers and at internal events.
  • Work in collaboration with product marketing to generate impactful product marketing material to support product launches that demonstrate the value and benefit of the products.
  • Work with internal stakeholders and third parties to assess and establish both sales and technology partnerships.
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned.
  • Work with the PMG to implement and follow appropriate product management processes to ensure smooth and timely operation of all product management related processes.
  • Participate in industry events to increase IQGeo's market visibility and to influence market direction as a thought leader.
  • Present current state of development to internal and external stakeholders to obtain feedback and reflect this feedback in subsequent user story refinement and prioritization.
  • Be responsible for prioritizing feature backlogs, coordinated with the Head of Product Management and other PMG team members.
  • Understand and monitor the telecoms, utilities, geospatial and IT/cloud industries/markets to identify emerging trends and ensure new business opportunities are reflected in the roadmap.
  • Create a strong working relationship & exert influence across product management, engineering and other stakeholder groups to successfully execute business strategy across IQGeo, partners and customers.

Requirements

  • Subject matter expert in project management and/or operations in telecoms.
  • Ideal candidates will have a working knowledge of geospatial technology.
  • 3+ years of industry/technical experience ideally with leadership background.
  • Proficient with product management software, e.g., Atlassian Suite (Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, etc.).
  • Evangelizes concepts beyond current offerings and considers business model innovation (product, service and delivery innovations).
  • Builds direct and 'behind the scenes' support for ideas, and leverages chains of indirect influence.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-starter able to take the initiative and drive forward new ideas and change.
  • Proficient with Office 365.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills.
  • Effective communication with remote/global teams.
  • Strong business analysis, problem solving and strategy development skills.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities of stakeholders.
  • 5+ years product management experience interacting with software development.
  • Have some knowledge/understanding of cloud-related technologies and approaches.
  • Ideal candidates will have a working knowledge of workforce management applications and processes.
