About the position

The Product Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific will play a crucial role in enhancing healthcare through the development and management of diagnostic products. This position involves building validated business cases for new products, fine-tuning forecasting, and ensuring that products meet market needs. The role requires a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape, customer needs, and competitive dynamics to drive impactful product strategies that ultimately improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage new and existing products in a portfolio through launch excellence.
  • Participate as the business lead on product development teams, providing data related to competitors, market, product positioning, revenue and unit forecasting, and pricing strategies.
  • Produce and drive credible regional market-based forecasts.
  • Size market opportunities and profit targets for assigned product portfolio.
  • Work with global teams to identify and coordinate upstream activities that impact the North American market.
  • Develop and sustain impactful product roadmaps that align with overall portfolio and strategic company objectives.
  • Build and implement short- and long-term strategic plans for market differentiation and competitive advantage.
  • Lead efforts in setting product pricing strategies and forecasting financial outcomes.
  • Establish and supervise critical metrics, providing regular reports to product and business management.
  • Partner with internal scientific and technical experts to ensure product plans are grounded in proven science.
  • Collaborate with Scientific Affairs to optimize investments and resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in product care, lifecycle management, upstream product marketing, and forecasting.
  • Technical laboratory experience or education in a relevant scientific field (e.g., biochemistry, molecular biology) strongly preferred.
  • Deep healthcare, diagnostic, and/or clinical trial industry knowledge strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record in leading upstream marketing activities.
  • Strong business insight and ability to navigate ambiguity.
