Product Manager

About the position

As a Product Manager at LI-COR, you will be responsible for the growth and development of specific products or product families. This role involves building new products, increasing the profitability of existing ones, and developing innovative ideas based on customer interactions. You will need to navigate ambiguity and complexity while possessing a blend of business and technical acumen to drive product vision and market strategy.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in the evaluation of new product concepts and ideas.
• Oversee new product development projects, setting product requirements and specifications.
• Prioritize features and coordinate focus groups and beta testing.
• Develop product line financials and identify new applications for product lines.
• Lead efforts to ensure smooth and effective product development and launch.
• Communicate vision and direction to development teams and inspire a sense of purpose.
• Analyze market performance, trends, and future opportunities.
• Oversee the new product launch process including market position, pricing, and promotion.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform product strategy.
• Train internal staff and distributors on product positioning and differentiation.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in biological or environmental sciences or related field.
• Five years or more of experience in product marketing, product development, technical sales, or technical support in a biological or technical environment.
• Understanding of plant physiology, agronomy, ecology, or environmental sciences.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to process large amounts of data into actionable information.
• Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communications.
• Proven team leadership skills and ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

Nice-to-haves

• Pragmatic Marketing Certification or familiarity with it.
• Business coursework and/or MBA preferred but not necessary.
