About the position

The Product Manager at Rhino Rack USA, LLC is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the entire process of bringing products to market. This includes collaborating with the RRUSA team from the initial ideation phase through to delivery. The Product Manager will engage in communication with the supply chain, manage product information for customers, conduct comprehensive market analysis, and provide product expertise. Key tasks involve defining, creating, and reviewing product specifications, working closely with product engineers to develop and adhere to price targets, negotiating prices, performing margin analysis, and developing packaging and merchandising strategies that not only protect products but also drive sales. Additionally, the Product Manager will track projects to ensure timely deliveries to customers and identify white space opportunities within the market. Training for internal team members and product support training are also part of the responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project management activities for new and existing product development projects, ensuring effective communication of changes and progress.
  • Manage multiple product categories simultaneously, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Conduct competitive analysis, product ideation, project management, and pricing recommendations.
  • Participate in the budgeting process as required, ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Develop and implement annual pricing strategies for each product to maintain market competitiveness.
  • Optimize product success across all stages of the product life cycle by identifying under-performing areas and creating improvement plans.
  • Drive success for features and products post roll-out, ensuring they meet market needs.
  • Maintain line logic to ensure product lines meet targets for simplicity and business growth, utilizing market feedback and sales data.
  • Define business cases and technical specifications for new products and features, ensuring alignment with stakeholder needs.
  • Lead key meetings and coordinate cross-functional teams to enhance product delivery through improved procedures and communication.
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop and execute go-to-market strategies and communication plans.
  • Work closely with engineering teams throughout the development process to ensure compliance with product specifications.
  • Complete projects within specified timelines, utilizing Timing and Action calendars for organization.
  • Assist Customer Service in reviewing formal complaints and resolutions.
  • Participate in trade shows, end-user presentations, and similar events to promote assigned product lines.
  • Comply with applicable SOX controls related to the Product Manager role.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus 5+ years of product management experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Subject matter expertise in technical and marketing principles relevant to assigned responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to place the end consumer at the center of business decisions, identifying current and future needs to exceed expectations.
  • Strong champion of new ideas and approaches, fostering an environment that encourages innovation.
