About the position

The Product Manager at Advanta, a global seed business under UPL Group, is responsible for enhancing market share and profitability of the Seed & Technology business. This role involves creating demand for Advanta Seed products among distributors, dealers, and growers, while driving profitable growth across the forage, sorghum, and corn product lines. The position requires collaboration with various teams to maximize sales and services, as well as managing inventory and analyzing market data to inform business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Own forecasting, allocation, and pricing implementation for the product portfolio.
  • Advise and create programs and offerings for channel partners.
  • Develop a roadmap of marketing activities to drive profitable growth.
  • Focus on product positioning and differentiation, tailoring messaging to market needs.
  • Collaborate with Territory Sales Managers, Global and Regional Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Technology Development.
  • Manage inventory concerns to meet business objectives.
  • Gather, aggregate, and analyze market and competitive information to drive business decisions.
  • Effectively manage expenses and discretionary resources.
  • Implement initiatives that drive localized demand.
  • Act as the business expert for distributors, dealers, and key growers.

Requirements

  • Substantial experience in sales, marketing, account management, or production agriculture.
  • Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, oral, and written).
  • Demonstrated initiative, assertiveness, and ability to drive results.
  • Strong business acumen, product planning, influencing, and critical thinking skills.
  • Financial, time, and P&L management proficiency.
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a rapid-paced and matrixed environment.
  • Strong level of computer and presentation skills (proficiencies in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data to influence decisions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Ag Business/Economics or similar field.
  • Six (6+) years of experience in agriculture sales, marketing, and/or account management.
  • Demonstrated seed product and portfolio knowledge.
