About the position

The Product Manager at Nucor Yamato Steel is responsible for enhancing customer relationships, developing new product opportunities, and increasing market participation in structural fabrication. This role requires a strategic understanding of Nucor's business plan, effective market studies, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Safety is a core value, and the Product Manager must uphold safety standards at all times.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with the commercial team to strengthen customer relationships.
• Develop new product opportunities in structural fabrication markets.
• Execute a comprehensive business plan aligned with Nucor's strategy.
• Create effective market studies and strategies to enhance market participation.
• Travel extensively as required for the role.
• Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies and practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or equivalent metals industry experience.
• 5+ years of sales, marketing, or technical experience in the metals industry.
• Manager and General Manager recommendation.
• Knowledge of customer service principles and processes.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
• Proactive initiative in seeking out work and responsibilities.
• Dependable and committed to fulfilling obligations.
• Knowledge of business and management principles for strategic planning and resource allocation.
• General business acumen and understanding of Nucor's revenue generation.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior supervisory experience and/or sales and marketing experience.
• Beam product knowledge and experience.
• Knowledge of structural fabrication.
• Advanced problem-solving skills.
• Willingness for future mobility.
