About the position

The Product Manager at Employee Benefits Corporation is responsible for developing and managing product solutions both internally and with third parties. This role focuses on maximizing the value of products through collaboration with the Scrum team and stakeholders, ensuring that product features align with business needs and market trends. The position offers flexibility in work location, allowing for remote work within Wisconsin or Minnesota, or a combination of both.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of new product features through market research, business case development, and initial design activities in collaboration with the Product Management Director.
  • Define the product vision, goal(s), and product increment expectations for Scrum team(s).
  • Maintain an ordered product backlog that is transparent, visible, and understood.
  • Develop detailed product feature specifications and ensure they're clearly understood by relevant teams.
  • Collaborate with internal and external contacts to anticipate and analyze business product needs, then work closely with stakeholders to understand business value or ROI.
  • Participate in Scrum events including refinement, planning, and sprint review.
  • Responsible for product increment release management and planning.
  • Serve as product ambassador internally and externally, sharing knowledge and answering questions including regulations, design, business processes, and technology solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Management or related discipline; may be substituted with four years directly relevant experience.
  • Minimum three years of experience in Section 125, Section 105, COBRA or health insurance products.
  • Minimum three years of experience in product development.
  • Remain up to date on trends and best practices for agile project management, implementation theory, and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships and manage conflicting needs of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of project management and implementation theory and methodologies.
  • Sharp analytical and excellent problem-solving skills, and highly adaptable in a constantly changing customer-focused and technical environment.
  • Self-motivated, able to learn quickly and research issues independently and with limited direction.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills, utilizing proper grammar, syntax, and excellent business acumen.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-paced environment with limited direction.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability and willingness for occasional overnight travel to an outside client, meeting, or conference up to two weeks' total throughout the year.
  • Possession of valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant certifications, such as Certified or Professional Scrum Product Owner (CSPO, PSPO).
  • Proficiency with applicable project management tools and technology.
  • Prior experience authoring software requirements and user stories.
  • Prior experience conducting and interpreting market research.
