About the position

The Product Manager position at PACCAR involves managing product groups for a specific business unit focused on the North American market. Under the supervision of a Product Director, the role encompasses managing supplier relationships, supporting product development, and enhancing product programs for dealers. Key responsibilities include identifying market requirements, managing product offerings, and developing strategies for distribution, pricing, and promotions to achieve sales and profit objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop specific objectives and business plans for sales, gross margin, inventory turns, and dealer order fill for the Product Group.
  • Manage supplier relationships with PACCAR Parts, including product offerings, terms of sale, and supplier performance.
  • Determine branding, distribution, and pricing strategies for each product program within the Product Group.
  • Assist the Product Director in leading a cross-functional team to achieve business unit objectives.
  • Develop key marketing support elements for product groups, including dealer communication and promotional plans.
  • Analyze program and product group performance and take appropriate actions to meet business unit objectives.
  • Negotiate cost reduction and program support elements with suppliers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Marketing/Sales or Engineering; master's degree is a plus.
  • Five or more years of experience in a commercial role (sales, marketing, purchasing, etc.) required.
  • Strong analysis, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a team-oriented, multi-functional business environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Access, AS400, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Six Sigma Belt experience is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the automotive or commercial vehicle industry.
  • Familiarity with aftermarket parts and services.
