About the position

The Product Marketing & Subscriber Strategy team at ESPN is dedicated to building direct-to-consumer (DTC) strategies and testing roadmaps that drive growth, engagement, and business results across various subscription types. This role focuses on optimizing the fan experience across multiple touchpoints, from marketing landing pages to upselling and cancellation flows, with the ultimate goal of building a loyal subscriber base that understands the value proposition of ESPN's offerings. The Associate Manager of Product Marketing will play a crucial role in executing marketing strategies aimed at increasing the adoption and usage of ESPN's DTC products. This involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with product goals, conducting market research to identify new opportunities, and crafting compelling messaging that resonates with target audiences. Additionally, the role requires analyzing performance metrics to optimize campaigns and contribute to the overall growth and success of ESPN's product offerings. In this position, the employee will support the team in developing actionable insights derived from data, analytics, and research to drive programs that maximize engagement among ESPN+ subscribers. Close collaboration with teams focused on engagement and retention, such as Data Analytics and CRM, will be essential to implement plans and measure the effectiveness of each component, ensuring continuous refinement and performance evaluation. The Associate Manager will also work in partnership with product management to understand product features and benefits, ensuring that marketing efforts and educational initiatives align with overall goals and enhance the customer experience. Furthermore, the employee will monitor and analyze campaign performance using key metrics and KPIs, providing actionable insights and recommendations for optimization. Presentations and reporting will be developed using tools like PowerPoint, Google Slides, and analytics dashboards to highlight product marketing performance and impact.

Responsibilities

  • Support the team in developing actionable insights from data, analytics, and research to drive programs that maximize engagement of ESPN+ subscribers.
  • Work closely with teams focused on engagement and retention, such as Data Analytics and CRM, to implement plans and measure effectiveness of each component to ensure refinement and performance evaluation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure projects and campaigns meet deadlines.
  • In partnership with product management, understand product features and benefits, ensuring that marketing efforts and education align with goals and enhance the customer experience.
  • Analyze subscriber and fan data to identify key segments and tailor marketing campaigns to specific audiences to maximize engagement and retention.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of campaigns using key metrics and KPIs, providing actionable insights and recommendations for optimization.
  • Develop presentations and reporting using PowerPoint, Google Slides, and analytics dashboards to highlight product marketing performance and impact.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Analytics, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, including social media, content marketing, SEO, and more.
  • Proficiency in marketing analytics and the ability to interpret data to drive decision-making.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in using analytical and marketing automation tools.
  • Knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
