About the position

As a Product Marketing Manager for AWS Cloud Operations, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the marketing strategy for AWS's innovative monitoring and observability capabilities. This position is integral to helping customers optimize their AWS, hybrid, and multicloud environments, thereby reducing IT complexity and enhancing operational efficiency. You will be responsible for developing compelling messaging and positioning that resonates with a diverse customer base, including startups, enterprises, and government agencies. Your work will involve collaborating closely with product and engineering teams to define and prioritize key messages, ensuring that they align with customer needs and market trends. In this role, you will own the creation of marketing content that drives awareness and adoption of AWS services. This includes crafting value propositions and use cases that highlight the unique benefits of operating on AWS. You will also be tasked with executing marketing programs across various channels, including digital marketing, events, and direct customer engagement. Your ability to influence and lead without direct authority will be crucial as you work with cross-functional teams, including sales, business development, and public relations, to ensure a cohesive marketing approach. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for technology and a proven track record in a data-driven marketing environment. You should be adept at transforming complex technical concepts into clear, engaging messaging that drives customer understanding and engagement. Responsibilities

  • Drive product marketing for AWS Monitoring & Observability (AMO) solution, part of the AWS Cloud Operations portfolio
  • Own the gathering of customer insight, and the development of messaging & positioning, use cases, value propositions, marketing content, and marketing programs for AMO
  • Lead without direct authority with internal stakeholders: Influence product and engineering teams to shape the product vision and prioritize features, and GTM/sales teams to land key messages and content
  • Partner effectively across AWS with groups such as engineering, digital marketing, sales, business development, public relations, analyst relations, partner marketing, and evangelists to drive marketing for the AMO business
  • Collaborate effectively within Cloud Operations product marketing team to drive success of the portfolio
  • Craft and execute campaigns and leverage owned, earned, and paid channels to reach our customers and help grow their understanding and usage of AWS
  • Test and refine new marketing approaches and bold and creative ideas

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
  • Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
  • Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional programs or marketing campaigns from concept to completion
  • Experience managing and measuring marketing performance in various channels

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience managing external partners to develop marketing programs
  • Experience presenting ideas to various levels of an organization to gain support for initiatives
