About the position

Lactalis USA is currently seeking a talented individual to join our Import Marketing team as a Product Marketing Manager. This role is onsite and will be based in New York City, NY. As the world leader in dairy, Lactalis is a family-owned business with over 85,000 professionals worldwide, dedicated to providing healthy and delicious dairy products that bring people together. The company offers a wide range of dairy brands, including Galbani®, Président®, Kraft® Natural Cheese, Cracker Barrel®, Black Diamond®, Parmalat®, Siggi's®, and Stonyfield Organic®, along with several brands imported from affiliates in Europe. In this position, the Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing strategies and implementing plans for assigned import products and brand portfolios. This includes organizing and controlling product lines from conceptual stages through their life cycles to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives. The role requires a deep understanding of brand strategy and the competitive landscape, including key competitors and market conditions. The Marketing Manager will work collaboratively with various departments, including Sales and Trade Marketing, to construct effective annual marketing programs that build the brand and achieve targeted operating results. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in the full marketing mix, monitor market conditions, set optimal price points, and work with the Agency of Record to develop impactful advertising and promotions. Additionally, the Marketing Manager will contribute to new product strategy development, recommend market research, and execute packaging graphics to ensure brand consistency. The role also involves managing marketing programs to impact business results, including pricing and marketing spending, while maintaining a commitment to a safe working environment that promotes employee health and wellbeing. Travel and extended work hours may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in setting effective business strategy along with the Marketing Director to achieve high-level objectives/metrics.
  • Develop and execute effective annual marketing programs that build the brand and achieve targeted operating results.
  • Monitor the market and proactively set optimal price points, recommending pricing action as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with the Agency of Record to develop and execute impactful advertising and promotions.
  • Provide accurate budgets and forecasts pertaining to volume and mix in collaboration with Sales and Trade Marketing.
  • Contribute to new product strategy development and lead new product teams in achieving launches.
  • Develop key communication strategies and effectively brief the agency on creative projects.
  • Recommend and execute appropriate market research to guide new product development and communications work.
  • Lead projects by managing processes and following up with key players and stakeholders.
  • Manage marketing programs to impact results, including pricing and marketing spending, while monitoring monthly results.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications or other comparable discipline; MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years related experience in a consumer package goods marketing position.
  • Food experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Significant computer skills and familiarity with sophisticated sales reporting systems.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to coordinate activities internally with various departments and functions.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
