About the position

TikTok is seeking a Product Marketing Manager to lead product strategy and go-to-market initiatives for our API offerings. This role is pivotal in guiding the entire product lifecycle, from identifying customer needs to collaborating with Product Managers and Engineers during product development, and executing go-to-market strategies for launching APIs globally. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating compelling value propositions, positioning, and messaging that resonate with our developer and advertiser segments. This position will also involve setting success metrics and defining clear objectives for API product adoption, promoting global product adoption through various tactics such as sales enablement, content creation, webinars, and client workshops. The API Product Marketing team operates within the Product Strategy and Operations (PSO) organization, focusing on building APIs that empower developers to create customized solutions. The Product Marketing Manager will engage with key internal partners, including Product Managers, Engineers, and Sales, to understand customer needs and set shared goals. This role requires a proactive approach to leading initiatives, coordinating with different teams, and introducing innovative concepts. The candidate will also spearhead alpha/beta testing projects, ensuring scalability through robust testing methodologies and continuous feedback loops. In addition, the Product Marketing Manager will conduct quantitative and qualitative research to develop customer personas, size opportunities, gather customer feedback, and track competitor movements. Utilizing market insights, the candidate will inform the product strategy, vision, and roadmap, ensuring alignment with customer demands and differentiation in the competitive landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Devise and implement product strategy and go-to-market plans for API products.
  • Create compelling value propositions, positioning, and messaging for developer and advertiser segments.
  • Formulate and execute go-to-market strategies tailored to products, ensuring alignment with customer needs and market trends.
  • Set success metrics and define clear objectives for API product adoption.
  • Promote global product adoption using tactics like sales enablement, content creation, webinars, and client workshops.
  • Engage with key internal partners to grasp customer needs and set shared goals.
  • Partner with the sales team to understand target markets and leverage insights for revenue growth.
  • Produce marketing materials, analyze data, and prepare external documentation with various teams.
  • Spearhead alpha/beta testing projects, capturing early feedback for product innovation.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative research to develop customer personas and track competitor movements.

Requirements

  • A BA/BS degree in Advertising, Marketing, Business, Communication, or other relevant field.
  • 3+ years of experience in product marketing or product management, preferably with digital ad products.
  • Familiarity with the digital advertising landscape.
  • Competence in managing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lead initiatives and coordinate with different teams.
  • Strong understanding of market trends and the broader product ecosystem.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in persuading teams about the strategic importance of APIs through compelling presentations and collaboration.
  • Proactiveness in initiating research and driving comprehensive go-to-market plans.
