About the position

As a Product Marketing Manager for the Modern App Ecosystem at Google Cloud, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the marketing strategy for AI-powered tools aimed at IT operators. Your responsibilities will encompass the entire product marketing journey, from defining positioning and messaging to executing go-to-market strategies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, and product management, to ensure that our products resonate with users and meet their needs effectively. In this role, you will focus on articulating the value proposition of AI tools that enhance the efficiency and reliability of IT operations. This includes working closely with system administrators, platform engineers, and Site Reliability Engineers (SRE) to understand their challenges and how our products can address them. You will be responsible for developing compelling messaging that highlights the benefits of our tools, particularly in the context of the industry-wide shift towards OpenTelemetry standards. Your work will not only involve strategic planning but also hands-on execution of marketing campaigns that drive product-led growth for observability tools. You will partner with the growth marketing team to create and implement effective marketing initiatives that showcase the capabilities of Google Cloud tools. By leveraging your expertise in marketing technical products, you will help position Google Cloud as a leader in the AI and cloud computing space, ultimately contributing to the success of our products and the satisfaction of our users.

Responsibilities

  • Articulate the value proposition of AI-powered tools in automating and improving the jobs of IT operators, including system admins, platform engineers, developer operation, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
  • Develop positioning strategies for Google Cloud tools, and create messaging for AI tools for operators.
  • Drive product-led growth initiatives for observability tools.
  • Partner with the growth marketing team to develop and execute campaigns.
  • Partner with product management and engineering teams to launch new products and features, ensuring successful go-to-market execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in marketing.
  • 4 years of experience in marketing technical products to IT operators, enterprise, or developer audiences.
  • Experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of cloud computing and container technologies, and AI tooling landscape and its relevance to various industries.
  • Understanding of technical concepts and business objectives.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams, including engineering, product, and marketing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling content and deliver impactful presentations.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
