About the position

As a Product Marketing Manager at BILL, you will play a pivotal role in championing small and mid-size businesses (SMBs) by driving the marketing strategy for our financial automation software. BILL is dedicated to automating the future of finance, allowing businesses to thrive by simplifying their financial workflows, including payables, receivables, and expense management. You will be part of a dynamic Product Marketing team that is responsible for getting products to market and enhancing their impact on customers and the business. This role requires you to represent the voice of the customer throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring that the product's value resonates with customers and differentiates from competitors. Your responsibilities will include developing strategies and programs that drive growth and retention, collaborating with various teams such as Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing. You will lead the creation of compelling product messaging and positioning, orchestrate go-to-market (GTM) launches, and conduct competitive monitoring and marketing research. Success in this role will be measured by your ability to deliver against business metrics and engage cross-functional stakeholders effectively. We are looking for a strategic thinker who can pivot from high-level strategy to execution, ensuring that customer needs are met and that our products are positioned effectively in the market. You will need to be an expert in our products and understand user workflows, as well as be a champion for our customers, turning insights into actionable marketing programs. Your project management skills will be crucial as you manage complex projects and lead a matrixed team to achieve our goals.

Responsibilities

  • Drive strategy and execution across the entire go-to-market (GTM) lifecycle.
  • Support growth in key business metrics through collaboration with marketing, product, management, sales, and customer success teams.
  • Act as the voice of the customer in product roadmap discussions and development.
  • Create differentiated and compelling product messaging and positioning.
  • Orchestrate effective GTM launches and ensure alignment with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Conduct competitive monitoring and marketing research to inform strategies.
  • Develop customer advocacy programs to enhance product adoption and retention.
  • Work closely with the sales team to provide tools and assets that drive adoption of payments products.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in a product marketing or similar role.
  • Direct experience in B2B SaaS and/or fintech.
  • Experience with successfully launching new features/products.
  • Proven ability to develop strategic plans such as marketing plans, launch plans, or campaign plans.
  • Strong data analytics skills to distill insights from research data, customer interactions, and market feedback.
  • Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration and influencing without authority.
  • Comfort navigating ambiguous situations and adapting strategies as necessary.
  • Adept at leading cross-functional plan execution and managing complex projects.
