About the position

As the Product Marketing Manager for Sentry's performance monitoring product, you will own the end-to-end go-to-market strategy to drive product awareness, adoption, and expansion. This role requires a deep understanding of the product, target audience, and market landscape, as you will work cross-functionally to distill complex information into compelling and concise messaging and materials that resonate with developers. Your primary focus will be to support the product marketing strategy and go-to-market approach for Sentry's performance monitoring solution, ensuring that developers are not only aware of the product but also engaged and activated in their use of it. In this position, you will be the voice of the customer, understanding their needs, pains, and aspirations. You will articulate how Sentry differentiates from the competition, ensuring customer success from the moment they sign up to when they send their first event. Crafting concise, benefits-driven messaging will be crucial, as you will develop elegant value propositions that stand out in the crowded developer tools market. You will also collaborate closely with Sales Engineers to create educational content that encourages developers to integrate Sentry into their workflows. Your responsibilities will include planning and coordinating product launches across multiple channels, with the goal of growing awareness and product engagement. You will continue the narrative post-launch by executing value-based campaigns that maintain interest in Sentry's offerings. Additionally, you will keep an eye on trends in developer tools and software development, using your research to inform product and engineering decisions on future investments. Cross-functional collaboration will be key, as you will work with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, Business Operations, and Go-To-Market teams to enhance product flows, revenue metrics, customer impact, and internal processes.

Responsibilities

  • Support the product marketing strategy and go-to-market approach for Sentry's performance monitoring solution.
  • Be the voice of the customer, understanding their needs and driving differentiation from the competition.
  • Craft concise, benefits-driven messaging and develop elegant value propositions for developers.
  • Plan and coordinate product launches across multiple channels to grow awareness and product engagement.
  • Create educational content about the performance monitoring offering in collaboration with Sales Engineers.
  • Build and execute value-based campaigns to maintain interest in Sentry post-launch.
  • Research trends in developer tools and software development to inform product and engineering decisions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with PMs, EMs, Biz Ops, and GTM teams to improve product flows and customer impact.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in product marketing with a proven track record of success in technical content strategy and creation.
  • Experience working closely with a software development process or familiarity with developer teams.
  • Ability to prioritize competing opportunities and balance customer needs versus business priorities.
  • Stellar written and verbal communication skills.
  • A pinch of snark, sass, and humor, along with flexibility and ambition wrapped in humility.

  • Developer relations or community experience is a plus.
  • Bonus points for being a developer in a past life.
