About the position

As a Product Marketing Manager for Privacy and Compliance at WhatsApp, you will play a pivotal role in managing the consumer-facing elements of highly sensitive privacy and regulatory compliance launches. Your responsibilities will include identifying insights that influence the product roadmap, advocating for transparency and user controls, developing messaging and positioning, and establishing metrics for success. You will work closely with various teams, including Product, Engineering, Policy, Privacy, Legal, Communications, and Partnerships, to ensure that go-to-market (GTM) efforts are aligned from inception to launch and beyond. This position requires a strategic marketer who is analytical, excels at leading complex projects in fast-paced environments, and is passionate about user privacy, security, and innovation. In this role, you will develop and execute go-to-market strategies for WhatsApp's privacy and compliance roadmap. This includes setting goals, defining metrics for success, asset development, and launch planning in collaboration with cross-functional partners while minimizing risk. You will also influence and shape product strategies, positioning, and narratives through data and insights tailored for target audiences, working closely with Product Management, Research, Communications, and Brand teams. Establishing strong partnerships with cross-functional teams across Marketing, Communications, and Marketing Insights will be essential to your success. You will tackle complex, highly visible, and sensitive issues with a strategic, data-driven mindset, demonstrating confidence, judgment, and excellent execution on fast-moving projects. Identifying product needs and emerging trends in the privacy, security, and encryption space will be part of your responsibilities, along with maintaining a learning mindset and a proactive approach to making things happen.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for WhatsApp's privacy and compliance roadmap including goals, metrics for success, asset development and launch planning with cross functional partners while minimizing risk.
  • Influence and shape product strategies, positioning and narratives through the use of data and insights for target audiences in close collaboration with Product Management, Research, Communications and Brand.
  • Establish strong partnerships with cross-functional teams across Marketing as well as Communications, Marketing Insights, Product Management and more.
  • Tackle complex, highly visible and sensitive issues with a strategic, data-driven mindset.
  • Demonstrate confidence, judgment, and excellent execution on fast-moving projects.
  • Identify product needs and emerging trends in the privacy, security, and encryption space.
  • Demonstrate a learning mindset and willingness to take the initiative and make things happen.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in product marketing and/or marketing, product management, or business strategy
  • BA/BS degree
  • Experience working with Product Management, Marketing and Communications teams at all levels of management
  • Solid analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience marketing new and emerging technologies
  • Experience developing go-to-market strategies based on audience driven insights
  • Experience driving presentations with executives and cross functional teams
  • Project and program management experience

Nice-to-haves

  • 10+ years of experience in product marketing and/or marketing, product management, or business strategy
  • Interest in WhatsApp's mission and user privacy
  • Direct experience as a product marketer on a technical product that impacts policy, privacy, or security
  • Experience working on complicated issues such as data sharing, regulatory compliance (e.g. GDPR, DMA), or internet safety
