The Product Manager - Residential Operators will be responsible for overseeing the product management and development of the residential garage door openers portfolio for the Genie brand and other assigned brands. This role is crucial in managing and enhancing the profitability and growth of the product line, from the introduction of new products to their end-of-life phase. The Product Manager will collaborate closely with sales teams to drive profitable growth and increase market share, while also working with finance, engineering, supply chain, and operations to achieve annual margin improvements. In this position, the Product Manager will ensure that new product positioning, pricing, costs, margins, and quality targets align with the overall product portfolio strategy. Leading the Product Business Team, the manager will coordinate with cross-functional teams, particularly in engineering and manufacturing, to drive cost reductions, improve quality, reduce returns, and increase inventory turns while launching new products. The role also involves developing and managing new product activities to ensure timely product introductions supported by appropriate marketing efforts. The Product Manager will create and own a three-year product plan for residential garage door openers, developing strategies to increase product sales and margins. This includes analyzing field input, conducting market research, and assessing competitive actions to formulate market preservation and growth strategies. The manager will identify new channels to gain market share and will be the voice of the customer, translating market research into features and benefits that enhance product value. Additionally, the Product Manager will represent the defined product offerings internally and externally, working with sales channels and key customers to boost sales and profitability. Supporting the sales team with the development of sales tools and training, the manager will also collaborate with brand management and sales to define the go-to-market strategy, ensuring clarity on product positioning, key benefits, and target customers. The role requires providing communication vehicles for programs and products, developing promotional vehicles to drive incremental sales, and conducting in-depth market, industry, and competitive analysis. The Product Manager will also work with finance to measure opportunities according to company metrics and support standardization and cost reduction goals, conducting product line rationalization to optimize product offerings and performance.
