About the position

The Product Marketing Manager for SMB at Box is responsible for developing and executing go-to-market strategies tailored to small and medium-sized businesses. This role focuses on understanding market dynamics, creating targeted messaging, and collaborating with various teams to drive growth in this key segment. The position requires a deep understanding of Box's product offerings and the ability to communicate their value effectively to SMB customers.

Responsibilities

  • Become a GTM expert in small to medium-sized businesses, including market dynamics, buying patterns, business needs, technology trends, and more.
  • Conduct market research, participate in customer briefings, partner with GTM teams, and analyze metrics to understand segment trends and insights.
  • Build expertise on Box's product portfolio and align features and capabilities with the SMB space.
  • Partner closely with technical PMMs to iterate on product messaging specific to SMB.
  • Develop tailored content for external marketing channels and for sales and customer success team enablement to drive pipeline creation and acceleration.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for SMB, collaborating across marketing, sales, customer success, and product teams to drive business results.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with a focus on the small and medium-sized business market.
  • Previous experience in product or content marketing, developing messaging and positioning for small and medium-sized businesses.
  • SaaS B2B experience; strong understanding of an enterprise sales cycle and what sellers need to be successful.
  • Bias for action and ability to execute quickly, juggling multiple deliverables.
  • Ability to unite cross-functional teams behind a common purpose and collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong business intuition: understanding of what keeps executives up at night.
  • Competence and enthusiasm for messaging, positioning, and content development.
  • Passion for a test and learn approach to decision-making, including being comfortable iterating.
  • A 'make it happen' mindset.
