As a Product Marketing Manager, you will be part of a dynamic Product Marketing Team responsible for driving the growth of our products and product lines. This role involves working closely with users and engineering teams to develop and commercialize innovative products that meet the needs of our customers. You will engage directly with end users through interviews, job site visits, and field testing to gain insights into their daily work, allowing us to create solutions that enhance safety and productivity. Your contributions will be vital in researching, developing, and launching disruptive new products that align with our company growth goals. In this position, you will report to a Sr. Manager of Product Management and take ownership of strategic product categories. Your key responsibilities will include conducting market research, identifying industry trends, and developing comprehensive product strategies that fuel a new product roadmap. You will lead the product development process from concept ideation to market launch, ensuring effective commercialization and successful go-to-market strategies that achieve revenue targets. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential as you create strategic initiatives to grow the MX FUEL business, leveraging market trends and customer insights to drive product enhancements and expansions. You will be empowered to own your projects and drive initiatives that support significant breakthroughs in the industry. Your role will require you to proactively manage the product portfolio, implement strategies for product positioning and forecasting, and assist in developing the overall departmental product strategy. You will also be responsible for providing customer input throughout the new product development process and analyzing findings to report to senior management. Your ability to assess new business opportunities and articulate your recommendations will be crucial in this role. Additionally, you will collaborate with engineering teams to ensure timely delivery of new products that meet all required targets, and develop comprehensive commercial plans to support product launches.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a 3-year strategy and plan to initiate marketing and new product development efforts to grow sales and profits in the assigned product categories.
  • Proactively manage the portfolio of products within the assigned categories.
  • Implement and monitor strategies including product positioning, forecasting, cost reductions, product updates, and obsolescence.
  • Assist in the development of the overall departmental product strategy.
  • Conduct market and user-based research to understand strategic, tactical, and new product development needs within the categories.
  • Engage with end users on commercial and residential job sites, making sales calls and conducting field testing.
  • Lead and interact globally with various cross-functional teams to collaborate and deliver objectives on schedule.
  • Write and submit documentation to initiate new product efforts.
  • Provide customer input throughout the new product development process.
  • Analyze and interpret findings and report to senior management.
  • Assess and analyze new business or product opportunities and articulate findings and recommendations to management.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to ensure new product development meets required targets and is delivered on time.
  • Develop comprehensive commercial plans to support all new product launches, including training modules, product-specific videos, web campaigns, and promotional plans.
  • Collaborate with brand and channel marketing to develop programs and promotions to meet quarterly and annual budgets.
  • Participate in key customer presentations, line reviews, trade shows, and other industry events to promote the categories.
  • Act as the internal and external focal point for resolving product issues within the categories.
  • Champion and lead various departmental improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of competitive and market information, including product catalogs, price lists, and regulatory issues.
  • Attend trade shows, seminars, and other industry events to stay abreast of market and industry trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related area.
  • 4-7 years of experience in Marketing/Sales roles.
  • Strong analytic, written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated track record of achievements in progressively responsible positions.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Willingness to travel 25-30% of the time.
  • Proficiency in PC skills including MS Office and Internet usage.
