About the position

Planet is seeking a strategic Product Marketing Manager to expand its presence in the Defense and Intelligence sector. This role involves developing and executing marketing strategies for Planet's products and solutions, focusing on understanding government customers' needs and positioning Planet's offerings effectively. The position requires collaboration with various teams to enhance market awareness and support product launches, particularly in relation to Planet's satellite capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute Planet's Global Defense and Intelligence Product strategy.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to build go-to-market plans.
• Understand challenges and use cases in the international Defense and Intelligence sector.
• Create differentiated product positioning and messaging.
• Partner with experts to highlight use cases and success stories.
• Share market and customer feedback with the Product team.
• Evangelize Planet's value proposition at events and networking opportunities.
• Assess and prioritize market opportunities with Product Management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• 6+ years of Product Marketing experience
• 5+ years within the defense and intelligence sectors
• Experience engaging with government customers
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Superb analytical skills
• Ability to work in the VA office 2-3 days a week
• Demonstrated effective collaboration in cross-functional settings
• Ability to work independently across time zones.

Nice-to-haves

• Background in defense or intelligence, such as military service
• Advanced understanding of geospatial data or remote sensing technologies
• Familiarity with international markets and regulatory environments.
